  1. The following is a list of files and features that are going to be
  2. removed from the U-Boot source tree. Every entry should contain what
  3. exactly is going away, when it will be gone, why it is being removed,
  4. and who is going to be doing the work. When the feature is removed
  5. from U-Boot, its corresponding entry should also be removed from this
  6. file.
  7. ---------------------------
  8. What: "autoscr" command
  9. When: August 2009
  10. Why: "autosrc" is an ugly and completely non-standard name. The "autoscr"
  11. command is deprecated and will be replaced the "source" command as
  12. used by other shells such as bash. Both commands will be supported
  13. for a transition period of 6 months after which "autoscr" will be
  14. removed.
  15. Who: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com>
  16. ---------------------------
  17. What: Individual I2C commands
  18. When: April 2009
  19. Why: Per the U-Boot README, individual I2C commands such as "imd", "imm",
  20. "imw", etc are deprecated. The single "i2c" command which is
  21. currently enabled via CONFIG_I2C_CMD_TREE contains the same
  22. functionality as the individual I2C commands. The individual
  23. I2C commands should be removed as well as any references to
  24. CONFIG_I2C_CMD_TREE.

  26. ---------------------------
  27. What: Legacy NAND code
  28. When: April 2009

  30. more recent NAND code ported from the Linux kernel.
