  385. In general, if the controller is based on an Adaptec SCSI controller
  386. chip from the aic777x series or the aic78xx series, this driver
  387. should work. The only exception is the 7810 which is specifically
  388. not supported (that's the RAID controller chip on the AAA-13x
  389. cards).
  390. Note that the AHA2920 SCSI host adapter is *not* supported by this
  391. driver; choose "Future Domain 16xx SCSI support" instead if you have
  392. one of those.

  658. In the SCSI-standard, the drive letters express the priority of the
  659. disk. C: should be the hard disk, or a partition on it, with the

  661. SCSI-id (e.g. 6) and not the one with the lowest! IBM-BIOS kept the
  662. original definition of the SCSI-standard as also industrial- and
  663. process-control-machines, like VME-CPUs running under realtime-OSes
  664. (e.g. LynxOS, OS9) do.
  665. If you like to run Linux on your MCA-machine with the same
  666. assignment of hard disks as seen from e.g. DOS or OS/2 on your
