  133. * @NL80211_CMD_GET_MESH_PARAMS: Get mesh networking properties for the
  134. * interface identified by %NL80211_ATTR_IFINDEX
  135. *
  136. * @NL80211_CMD_SET_MESH_PARAMS: Set mesh networking properties for the
  137. * interface identified by %NL80211_ATTR_IFINDEX
  138. *
  139. * @NL80211_CMD_SET_MGMT_EXTRA_IE: Set extra IEs for management frames. The
  140. * interface is identified with %NL80211_ATTR_IFINDEX and the management
  141. * frame subtype with %NL80211_ATTR_MGMT_SUBTYPE. The extra IE data to be
  142. * added to the end of the specified management frame is specified with
  143. * %NL80211_ATTR_IE. If the command succeeds, the requested data will be
  144. * added to all specified management frames generated by
  145. * kernel/firmware/driver.
  146. * Note: This command has been removed and it is only reserved at this
  147. * point to avoid re-using existing command number. The functionality this
  148. * command was planned for has been provided with cleaner design with the
  149. * option to specify additional IEs in NL80211_CMD_TRIGGER_SCAN,
  150. * NL80211_CMD_AUTHENTICATE, NL80211_CMD_ASSOCIATE,
  151. * NL80211_CMD_DEAUTHENTICATE, and NL80211_CMD_DISASSOCIATE.
  152. *
  153. * @NL80211_CMD_GET_SCAN: get scan results
  154. * @NL80211_CMD_TRIGGER_SCAN: trigger a new scan with the given parameters
  155. * @NL80211_CMD_NEW_SCAN_RESULTS: scan notification (as a reply to
  156. * NL80211_CMD_GET_SCAN and on the "scan" multicast group)
  157. * @NL80211_CMD_SCAN_ABORTED: scan was aborted, for unspecified reasons,
  158. * partial scan results may be available
  159. *
  160. * @NL80211_CMD_GET_SURVEY: get survey resuls, e.g. channel occupation
  161. * or noise level
  162. * @NL80211_CMD_NEW_SURVEY_RESULTS: survey data notification (as a reply to
  163. * NL80211_CMD_GET_SURVEY and on the "scan" multicast group)
  164. *
  165. * @NL80211_CMD_REG_CHANGE: indicates to userspace the regulatory domain
  166. * has been changed and provides details of the request information
  167. * that caused the change such as who initiated the regulatory request
  168. * (%NL80211_ATTR_REG_INITIATOR), the wiphy_idx
  169. * (%NL80211_ATTR_REG_ALPHA2) on which the request was made from if
  170. * the initiator was %NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_COUNTRY_IE or
  171. * %NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_DRIVER, the type of regulatory domain
  172. * set (%NL80211_ATTR_REG_TYPE), if the type of regulatory domain is
  173. * %NL80211_REG_TYPE_COUNTRY the alpha2 to which we have moved on
  174. * to (%NL80211_ATTR_REG_ALPHA2).
  175. * @NL80211_CMD_REG_BEACON_HINT: indicates to userspace that an AP beacon
  176. * has been found while world roaming thus enabling active scan or
  177. * any mode of operation that initiates TX (beacons) on a channel
  178. * where we would not have been able to do either before. As an example
  179. * if you are world roaming (regulatory domain set to world or if your
  180. * driver is using a custom world roaming regulatory domain) and while
  181. * doing a passive scan on the 5 GHz band you find an AP there (if not
  182. * on a DFS channel) you will now be able to actively scan for that AP
  183. * or use AP mode on your card on that same channel. Note that this will
  184. * never be used for channels 1-11 on the 2 GHz band as they are always
  185. * enabled world wide. This beacon hint is only sent if your device had
  186. * either disabled active scanning or beaconing on a channel. We send to
  187. * userspace the wiphy on which we removed a restriction from
  188. * (%NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY) and the channel on which this occurred
  189. * before (%NL80211_ATTR_FREQ_BEFORE) and after (%NL80211_ATTR_FREQ_AFTER)
  190. * the beacon hint was processed.
  191. *
  192. * @NL80211_CMD_AUTHENTICATE: authentication request and notification.
  193. * This command is used both as a command (request to authenticate) and
  194. * as an event on the "mlme" multicast group indicating completion of the
  195. * authentication process.
  196. * When used as a command, %NL80211_ATTR_IFINDEX is used to identify the
  197. * interface. %NL80211_ATTR_MAC is used to specify PeerSTAAddress (and
  198. * BSSID in case of station mode). %NL80211_ATTR_SSID is used to specify
  199. * the SSID (mainly for association, but is included in authentication
  200. * request, too, to help BSS selection. %NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_FREQ is used
  201. * to specify the frequence of the channel in MHz. %NL80211_ATTR_AUTH_TYPE
  202. * is used to specify the authentication type. %NL80211_ATTR_IE is used to
  203. * define IEs (VendorSpecificInfo, but also including RSN IE and FT IEs)
  204. * to be added to the frame.
  205. * When used as an event, this reports reception of an Authentication
  206. * frame in station and IBSS modes when the local MLME processed the
  207. * frame, i.e., it was for the local STA and was received in correct
  208. * state. This is similar to MLME-AUTHENTICATE.confirm primitive in the
  209. * MLME SAP interface (kernel providing MLME, userspace SME). The
  210. * included %NL80211_ATTR_FRAME attribute contains the management frame
  211. * (including both the header and frame body, but not FCS). This event is
  212. * also used to indicate if the authentication attempt timed out. In that
  213. * case the %NL80211_ATTR_FRAME attribute is replaced with a
  214. * %NL80211_ATTR_TIMED_OUT flag (and %NL80211_ATTR_MAC to indicate which
  215. * pending authentication timed out).
  216. * @NL80211_CMD_ASSOCIATE: association request and notification; like
  217. * NL80211_CMD_AUTHENTICATE but for Association and Reassociation
  218. * (similar to MLME-ASSOCIATE.request, MLME-REASSOCIATE.request,
  219. * MLME-ASSOCIATE.confirm or MLME-REASSOCIATE.confirm primitives).
  220. * @NL80211_CMD_DEAUTHENTICATE: deauthentication request and notification; like
  221. * NL80211_CMD_AUTHENTICATE but for Deauthentication frames (similar to
  222. * MLME-DEAUTHENTICATION.request and MLME-DEAUTHENTICATE.indication
  223. * primitives).
  224. * @NL80211_CMD_DISASSOCIATE: disassociation request and notification; like
  225. * NL80211_CMD_AUTHENTICATE but for Disassociation frames (similar to
  226. * MLME-DISASSOCIATE.request and MLME-DISASSOCIATE.indication primitives).
  227. *
  228. * @NL80211_CMD_MICHAEL_MIC_FAILURE: notification of a locally detected Michael
  229. * MIC (part of TKIP) failure; sent on the "mlme" multicast group; the
  230. * event includes %NL80211_ATTR_MAC to describe the source MAC address of
  231. * the frame with invalid MIC, %NL80211_ATTR_KEY_TYPE to show the key
  232. * type, %NL80211_ATTR_KEY_IDX to indicate the key identifier, and
  233. * %NL80211_ATTR_KEY_SEQ to indicate the TSC value of the frame; this
  234. * event matches with MLME-MICHAELMICFAILURE.indication() primitive
  235. *
  236. * @NL80211_CMD_JOIN_IBSS: Join a new IBSS -- given at least an SSID and a
  237. * FREQ attribute (for the initial frequency if no peer can be found)
  238. * and optionally a MAC (as BSSID) and FREQ_FIXED attribute if those
  239. * should be fixed rather than automatically determined. Can only be
  240. * executed on a network interface that is UP, and fixed BSSID/FREQ
  241. * may be rejected. Another optional parameter is the beacon interval,
  242. * given in the %NL80211_ATTR_BEACON_INTERVAL attribute, which if not
  243. * given defaults to 100 TU (102.4ms).
  244. * @NL80211_CMD_LEAVE_IBSS: Leave the IBSS -- no special arguments, the IBSS is
  245. * determined by the network interface.
  246. *
  247. * @NL80211_CMD_TESTMODE: testmode command, takes a wiphy (or ifindex) attribute
  248. * to identify the device, and the TESTDATA blob attribute to pass through
  249. * to the driver.
  250. *
  251. * @NL80211_CMD_CONNECT: connection request and notification; this command
  252. * requests to connect to a specified network but without separating
  253. * auth and assoc steps. For this, you need to specify the SSID in a
  254. * %NL80211_ATTR_SSID attribute, and can optionally specify the association
  255. * IEs in %NL80211_ATTR_IE, %NL80211_ATTR_AUTH_TYPE, %NL80211_ATTR_MAC,
  256. * %NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_FREQ and %NL80211_ATTR_CONTROL_PORT.
  257. * It is also sent as an event, with the BSSID and response IEs when the
  258. * connection is established or failed to be established. This can be
  259. * determined by the STATUS_CODE attribute.
  260. * @NL80211_CMD_ROAM: request that the card roam (currently not implemented),
  261. * sent as an event when the card/driver roamed by itself.
  262. * @NL80211_CMD_DISCONNECT: drop a given connection; also used to notify
  263. * userspace that a connection was dropped by the AP or due to other
  264. * reasons, for this the %NL80211_ATTR_DISCONNECTED_BY_AP and
  265. * %NL80211_ATTR_REASON_CODE attributes are used.
  266. *
  267. * @NL80211_CMD_SET_WIPHY_NETNS: Set a wiphy's netns. Note that all devices
  268. * associated with this wiphy must be down and will follow.
  269. *
  270. * @NL80211_CMD_REMAIN_ON_CHANNEL: Request to remain awake on the specified
  271. * channel for the specified amount of time. This can be used to do
  272. * off-channel operations like transmit a Public Action frame and wait for
  273. * a response while being associated to an AP on another channel.
  274. * %NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY or %NL80211_ATTR_IFINDEX is used to specify which
  275. * radio is used. %NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_FREQ is used to specify the
  276. * frequency for the operation and %NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_CHANNEL_TYPE may be
  277. * optionally used to specify additional channel parameters.
  278. * %NL80211_ATTR_DURATION is used to specify the duration in milliseconds
  279. * to remain on the channel. This command is also used as an event to
  280. * notify when the requested duration starts (it may take a while for the
  281. * driver to schedule this time due to other concurrent needs for the
  282. * radio).
  283. * When called, this operation returns a cookie (%NL80211_ATTR_COOKIE)
  284. * that will be included with any events pertaining to this request;
  285. * the cookie is also used to cancel the request.
  286. * @NL80211_CMD_CANCEL_REMAIN_ON_CHANNEL: This command can be used to cancel a
  287. * pending remain-on-channel duration if the desired operation has been
  288. * completed prior to expiration of the originally requested duration.
  289. * %NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY or %NL80211_ATTR_IFINDEX is used to specify the
  290. * radio. The %NL80211_ATTR_COOKIE attribute must be given as well to
  291. * uniquely identify the request.
  292. * This command is also used as an event to notify when a requested
  293. * remain-on-channel duration has expired.
  294. *
